Dubai:  Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, cancelled its flights to Iran on Friday after receiving an official alert, the airline said in a statement.

The airline's flight FZ 1929 from Dubai to Tehran was forced to return to Dubai due to the closure of Tehran Airport (IKA). The cancellation was made in line with the issued NOTAM, and the airline has assured passengers that their safety is their priority.

The situation in Iran appears to be tense, as Iran's state media reported explosions in central Isfahan on Friday. According to US media, officials have stated that Israel carried out retaliatory strikes on its arch-rival.

The explosions were reportedly heard in several city areas, and social media users shared images and videos of the aftermath.

The situation is still unfolding, and no official confirmation of who was responsible for the explosions or what was damaged.

Flydubai is monitoring the situation closely and will change its flight paths in consultation with the relevant authorities. The airline has promised to share further updates once more information becomes available.

In the meantime, passengers are advised to check Flydubai's website for any updates on their flights to Iran and to contact the airline's customer service for any concerns or inquiries.
